Kayla Allred is an animator and digital illustrator who is interested in creating works that explore heavy subject matters in lighthearted ways. She is from Senatobia, Mississippi, and went to Senatobia High School. While still in high school, she entered a digital painting into The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards of 2017 and received an honorable mention. In 2018, she designed the official marching show shirt for Senatobia High School’s band.

After graduating, Kayla attended Northwest Mississippi Community College (NWMCC) for two years where she received an Associate of Arts.

Currently, Kayla is a digital arts major with a concentration in animation at Delta State University (DSU). In the spring of 2022, she had several pieces displayed in the DSU Annual Juried Student Show as well as the Salon de Refuses. She received the Carol Tatum Award alongside three other collaborators for a video project piece titled The Chase, as well as The Opportunity Award for her digital print titled Cats & Dogs.

Kayla is on track to receive her BFA in fall 2023. Currently, she is in the brainstorming and concept art stages of developing her thesis.
