Martine Pinsolle is a French artist settled in the South West of France where she paints. She was initiated into the art of drawing and painting by Renée Seilhean, a teacher at the « Beaux Arts » in Bordeaux and never gave up. At the same time, she graduated in French literature and therefore taught in High school for many years. Since 1988, she has been exhibited in the gallery Portal in Saint Jean de Luz ( France) and in different other art galleries, institutional places and shows in France, Belgium and Spain as well. Martine Pinsolle’s favourite themes are the body and the human figure painted on quite a lot of different materials, using a wide range of techniques. For over ten years, she has been working with solid oil on jute canvas and acrylic on small and large sized papers as well. Representing the body has long been the main part of her pictorial research, a representation she has deeply enhanced with scenes and postures from everyday life.
