Laurence Le Constant is a French visual artist. The feather is her medium of choice. She was born in Reunion island in 1976. She draw her inspiration from the ancient knowledge found in tribal tales and cosmogonic myths. The feather was the standard value for weighing the Ka (soul of the deceased) in ancient Egypt. It is the guarantor of harmony and universal balance in many cultures and Shamans use it to communicate with the gods.

A large part of the feathers used are from natural moult and the other part is from animals farmed for the food industry. They are collected and selected instead of being disposed as organic manure. The specific colors are obtained by hand dyeing.
