Claire Gill is an artist who works with a digital collage approach to explore a Sense of Place. She records places and journeys using photography and on returning to the studio re-imagines those places and her memories of the places by combining, layering and juxtaposing her photographs digitally on the computer. Much of her work is inspired by the British Coastline.
New quietly poetic and surreal scenes are created, which hopefully retain a sense of the places which inspired them, but also leave space for the imagination. Claire hopes her images will allow the viewers to connect with places in a different way.
All of Claire’s digital collages are exhibited and sold in the form of limited edition original prints. You can follow Claire’s journey and art making process on instagram @clairegillfineart
